Sports Finder ("we," "us," "our") operates the website at sportsfinder.dev. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not serve ads. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service.

1.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account or use Sports Finder, you may provide:

• Account information: Email address and password (password is hashed and stored securely by our authentication provider).
• Location information: ZIP code, entered during onboarding to determine regional channel availability.
• Timezone: Detected or manually set, used to display game times in your local time.
• TV provider selection: Your cable, satellite, or streaming TV provider, used to display relevant channel numbers.
• Favorite teams: Teams you select to personalize your game feed.
• Custom channel numbers: Channel overrides you manually add or correct for your specific setup.
• View preferences: Your preferred display mode (grid, list, or timeline) and theme (dark or light).

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use Sports Finder, we may automatically collect:

• Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is collected by our hosting provider in standard server logs.
• Cookies and session data: We use cookies solely for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. See Section 5 for details.

1.3 Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect payment or financial information (the service is free).
• We do not collect precise geolocation data (GPS coordinates). We only store the ZIP code you voluntarily provide.
• We do not collect social media profiles or contacts.
• We do not record or store your browsing activity outside of Sports Finder.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the service: Display game schedules, scores, and broadcast information personalized to your provider, location, and favorite teams.
• Authenticate your account: Manage login sessions and protect your account.
• Display accurate channel numbers: Match broadcast networks to your selected TV provider and region.
• Improve the service: Understand general usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features. We do not build individual user profiles for behavioral analysis.
• Communicate with you: Send essential service-related communications (such as password resets). We do not send marketing emails.

3. How We Store and Protect Your Information

• Authentication: Account authentication is handled by Supabase, our backend provider. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plain text. We do not have access to your plaintext password.
• Database: Your profile data (ZIP code, provider selection, favorites, preferences) is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security policies that restrict access to your own data.
• Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS. Data at rest is encrypted by our infrastructure provider.
• Access control: Only authenticated users can access their own profile data. Administrative access to the database is restricted.

While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We use Supabase for authentication and database hosting, and Vercel for website hosting. These providers process data on our behalf and are subject to their own privacy policies. We share only the minimum data necessary for them to provide their services.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or safety, or investigate potential violations of our Terms of Service.
• Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

5. Cookies

Sports Finder uses cookies strictly for authentication and session management. These are functional cookies that are essential for the service to operate.

We use the following types of cookies:

• Authentication cookies: Set by Supabase to maintain your logged-in session. These are first-party, secure, HTTP-only cookies.
• CAPTCHA session cookies: Used during account creation to prevent automated signups. These are temporary and expire after the signup process.

We do not use:

• Third-party tracking cookies
• Advertising or retargeting cookies
• Analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics)
• Social media tracking pixels

Because we use only essential cookies, no cookie consent banner is required under most privacy regulations. However, you can disable cookies in your browser settings, which may prevent you from logging in.

6. Third-Party Services

Sports Finder relies on the following third-party services:

7. Data Retention

• Account data: We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
• Game cache data: Cached game schedule and score data is automatically purged after 48 hours. This data is not personal information.
• Server logs: Standard server logs maintained by our hosting provider are retained according to their own retention policies (typically 30 days).

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access: You can view your profile data at any time in the Settings page of the service.
• Correction: You can update your ZIP code, provider, favorite teams, and other profile data at any time through the Settings page.
• Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@sportsfinder.dev. Upon receiving your request, we will delete your data within 30 days.
• Data portability: You can request a copy of your personal data by contacting us.
• Opt out: Since we do not engage in targeted advertising, data selling, or marketing emails, there is nothing to opt out of in those categories. You can stop using the service at any time.

For California Residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@sportsfinder.dev.

For European Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for processing your information is your consent (provided when you create an account) and our legitimate interest in operating the service. 9. Children's Privacy

Sports Finder is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the service or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of Sports Finder after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
